2017.5.22 UPDATE: I WAS A CASUALTY OF LAST WEEK’S LOUISVILLE CAMPAIGN!

Folks,

For reasons that will soon be made obvious, this post will be short.  I just want you all to know what is going on here, and why orders will be slow to ship and the May releases are going to be pushed to June.

I WAS A CASUALTY

I went to the Louisville IPMS show this past weekend, and I had a great time.  However, I was a casualty of the campaign.  I must have weakened my back with all the work I did before I left for the show last week because, when I woke up Friday morning, my back was out.  Being stubborn, I stayed with the group and went to Louisville anyway.  Unfortunately, my back got worse every day of the trip.  What made things worse was that, when my back goes out… Well, a certain vital function becomes irregular (let’s just say I had no need for ‘reading material’ from Thursday until this morning).  On top of this, a couple of us had trouble with our allergies during the trip.  The issue for me is, if I cannot keep all the crud draining from my nose out of my lungs when my allergies attack, I can easily get a lung infection.  Well, when you can’t cough without blacking out from pain, you have a hard time keep that stuff from draining into your lungs.  So, to sum things up, by the time I got home last night, I was feeling much like Dave Hobbs described me: a tank with a blown jug, leaking transmission and seized final drive.  I was definitely hard deadlined!

Luckily, BB was ready to doctor me when I got home last night.  By this morning, things were moving well enough again that I can use reading material once more.  This took enough pressure of my back that I can manage to cough up the crud in my chest.  And I am able to walk without feeling like I am going to black out.  Unfortunately, it usually takes a few days to get my back right again.

ORDERS DELAYED, MAY RELEASES CANCELLED

Because of how bad I feel right now, I am going to have to take things very easy this week.  Experience has shown me that, if I do not do this, I could be down for weeks.  This means orders will be slow to ship.  I will do my best to work on them, but I will be very slow in getting them filled (sorry).  Also, I am not going to be able to spend any time on the master bench. This means I am going to put off the May 26 releases until June 30.  The up-side to that is June 30 should be a great day!

THAT IS ALL

OK, it is killing me just to sit here and type this, so I am going to stop here and wish you a good week.  Stay safe and try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin).

Joe

  1. The upside to 30 June is more money in my pocket to throw at you. YOU concentrate on getting better . Don’t beat yourself up, GET BETTER!

Now, with the slide to the end of June, while you heal up, you can concentrate , get the next round exactly as you need to have them mastered and send out the other stuff as you heal stuff. Glad you had fun in LOU, sorry you got sick.

Hang in there , it’ll all be just as intended .

  2. Get well soon, Joe. I will pray for a miracle as I know the Lord Jesus answers. He is true and personal!

    • Thanks, Cliff,

At this point, I sure could use the prayers. Things have gotten worse, and I have had to see the doctor. But the Lord has this, and He will use it for my own good (though I may not see it right now). I just appreciate knowing you are praying for me. Thanks again. 🙂
