The year is almost over, and a busy year it has been here at TMD. So, as we get prepared for our New Year’s celebrations, let me be ‘Joe’ one last time in 2017 O:-)
I had hoped to have some new goodies for you this week, but — and I am being totally honest — I was too lazy to pout in the time that required on the master bench. I do have a list of new goodies for you. I have Karl’s early M4 VVSS 105 mm Sherman conversion (it’s sa-weet!). I have more goodies for the Takom M3 Lee/Grant and M31. And I am tryi9ng to turn our T6 kit into a conversion that can work with the Takom M3 kits. The planning, picture references and everything else for these items is all done. I just have to force myself to sit down for 2-3 days and bang them out. So, in the interest of trying to start things out right in 2018, I am going to do my best to have all of this and more ready by Jan 8.
THE COMING YEAR
I have a lot of hopes for 2018, and I’ll tell you about them if and when I manage to make headway on them. However, I know myself, and if there is any hope for my hopes becoming reality, I am going to have to do some work on Joe. Also, it may be time to figure out how to recruit some help (which is not easy since I can only afford to pay for most things in resin). Still, a few of you have stepped up and volunteered to help me out, and I look forward to working with you in 2018. If the Lord wills it, I might finally find a few new pattern makers to help out, as well. I know of one guy I sure owe down where they filmed the Hobbit adventures, and I will be talking to him soon. I’m also going to see if I can push my padewan into drive. He’s been stuck in idle far too long and his talents have been going to waste for it. And by all means, if anyone else out there is interested in making patterns for TMD, email me!
THAT IS ALL
Well, this is about all I have for you right now. I have been enjoying my working break, and it is helping a lot. I know my batteries will be fully charged and I will be ready to hit the ground running when I get back to work. But, for right now, I am having too much fun just being BB’s boyfriend. So, I will end here by wishing you and all of your family and loved ones a very SAFE and Happy New Year! We’ll see you in 2018. Until then, stay safe and try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin).
