2018.3.9 UPDATE: Slow, Steady Progress

Hello Friends,

I’ve had a pretty good week.  I have made slow, steady progress on a number of fronts.  Come on, let me tell you about them.

I am still making a list of things I want to do for the new Panther kits.  I plan to start with the Panther A.  If you want to offer comments or suggestions, please see my post on our Face Book page where I have asked for suggestions.  I pinned the post in question to the top of the page, so just scroll down until you find it.  You shouldn’t have to go too far.

I am working on the Panther A, Tiger I and II and a little on the M3 Lee/Grant and U.S. T-29/30/34 series tanks.

There are only three – 3 – outstading orders and no customer service issues left in the shop!  And all three of those outstanding orders are waiting for me to deal with some mold issues.  If all goes well, they will all ship by Tuesday next week.  So, if you want to place an order, this is a good weekend to do so.

The new web site is coming along well.  I am actually learning how to do many of the things I want to change on the web site.  However, I do not deserve any credit for this.  I have a friend and customer from France who has been doing the lion’s share of the work and patiently teaching this Luddite how to manage his own web site.  You know who you are, my friend, and I thank you 🙂

I have also managed to clear my customer service issues.  So, if I still need to do something for you, email me!  Because you have fallen off my radar.

In addition to these things, I have been catching up on other administrative chores.  These are the things that have to get done to keep TMD running smoothly, but — because they do not directly pay the bills — they get pushed aside.  Well, my ‘in box’ pile is a lot lower this week.

Finally, there is this:

I also managed to make a list that will let me sell of the many kits, accessories and books I need to get rid off in a way that will make it easy for you to see what I have and easy for me to maintain and spread across the modeling world.  You can find it here.

Personally, I am still trying to work through my malaise.  I still have a LOT of work to do on the house, shop and property, but at least — now that the porch has been painted — the most pressing jobs are behind me.  The things that remain are mostly cosmetic, but they are still important (especially since they are high on BB’s priority list).  However, the weather has been great (even though it has been unseasonably cold), and the shop rats (our three schnauzers) have been happy to help me with the outside chores.  They always put a smile on my face, so that has helped.  And I have been working to set things right with those closest to me.  So far, I seem to be mending breaches I put in fences, and that has also helped improve my attitude.  So, things are getting better.  But, please, do not think I am depressed.  My problems are not nearly as serious as those poor folks who suffer with real depression.  I’m just going through a period of self-pity and condemnation.  I took a look at myself and didn’t like what I saw; I let it get me down; but now I am grabbing my boot straps and pulling my butt up and kicking it in gear — and it is working.  🙂

Well, that’s all I have for now.  So, until next week, stay safe and try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin).
