COMMON QUESTIONS

WHO IS TMD (Tiger Model Designs)?

TMD is a small group of friends who work to produce high quality resin products for 1/35 scale armor modelers.  All of our operations are run by the owner, Joe Bakanovic.  Joe does all the invoicing, casting, packing and shipping.  He also maintains the web store, blog page and Face Book page.  IN addition to these duties, Joe answers the majority of our email and makes many of the masters for our products.  However, Karl van Sweden and Dave Hobbs are also part of the team.  Karl makes the majority of the masters for our U.S. products, and Dave handles a great deal of our research.

IS MY ITEM IN STOCK?

We do not keep any of our items ‘in stock.’  This is because we make everything to order.

HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?

I try to ship all orders within 2 business days after receiving your order.  My ‘business days’ are Monday — Friday.  Orders taken over a weekend or on a holiday are not ‘received’ until the next business day.

SHIPPING RATES

We do not set the shipping rates.  We know that the cost of shipping is expensive, and we try to keep your cost as low as possible.  Unfortunately, we are a small company and we do not qualify for corporate accounts, so we have to pay full price when we ship your items.  The best solution we have found is to use the set rate on our shopping cart.  If you make a small order, then yes, the shipping will be very expensive compared to the cost of your purchase.  However, if you place a larger order, the shipping fees stay the same because we cover the excess.  We wish we could do better, but this is the best we can do.  We hope you will understand our situation.

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF MY ORDER?

Our system is set to send you email notifications as your order is processed, but this does not always work.  Some browsers, and the settings you are using can prevent these messages from getting to you.  There is little we can do about this because, if we fix things for your system, we break them for another system.  The best we could do was set our notification system to work for the most people possible.

When we ship, we also send a shipping notification from Stamps.com.  This will send you an email telling you that we have shipped your order and giving you the tracking number for your package.  Here again, depending on how you have your SPAM filter set, you may or may not receive this email.  And again, there is little we can do about this as it depends mostly on your system and settings.
